About Solitaire

The classic patience game: Klondike solitaire. Build every suit from ace to king on the four foundations, moving cards down the seven columns in alternating colours.

Choose draw 1 or draw 3, and winnable deals or fully random ones. Play relaxed with undo and hints, or against the clock.

How to play Solitaire

Goal

Move all 52 cards onto the four foundations at the top right — one pile for each suit, built up in order from ace to king.

Modes

  • 🧩 Relaxed — no time limit. Undo and hints as often as you like.
  • ⏱ Timer — 5, 10 or 15 minutes. When time runs out the game ends and shows how many cards you got home.

The table

  • Seven columns (the tableau). Only the bottom card of each is face up at the start.
  • The stock (top left) holds the rest of the deck. Tap it to turn cards over onto the waste next to it.
  • The foundations (top right) — where the suits are built from ace to king.

How to play

  • In the columns, build down in alternating colours: a red 6 can go on a black 7.
  • You can move a whole run of face-up cards together. When a face-down card is uncovered it turns over by itself.
  • Only a king (or a run starting with a king) can go into an empty column.
  • Drag cards where you want them, or just tap a card: it jumps to the best place — a foundation first, then a column. Tap it again to try the next place. A double tap sends a card home.
  • Tap the stock to turn cards. When it's empty, tap it again to turn the waste back over — as often as you like.
  • ↶ Undo takes back moves, all the way to the start. 💡 Hint asks the solver for a good next move.
  • When every card is face up and the stock is used up, ⚡ Finish plays the rest out for you.
  • Keyboard: Space turns the stock, Z undoes, H gives a hint.

Options

  • Draw 1 turns one card at a time — the friendlier game. Draw 3 turns three, and only the top one can be played — a real challenge.
  • ✅ Winnable deals are checked by the computer first: it found a way to win, so you can too. 🎲 Random deals are completely random — some can't be won.

Scoring

  • Card to a foundation +10 · waste card to a column +5 · turning over a column card +5.
  • Card back down from a foundation −15 · turning the waste over −100 in Draw 1, −20 in Draw 3. The score never drops below 0.

Tips

  • Uncover the face-down cards first, starting with the longest columns.
  • Don't empty a column unless you have a king ready to put there.
  • Aces and twos can always go home straight away. With higher cards, think twice — you may need them to build on.
  • Stuck? Undo a few moves and try a different way.
