How to play Fusion

Goal

Slide the tiles and fuse equal numbers together. Two 2s make a 4, two 4s make an 8, and so on. Every fuse scores its new value. How big can you go?

How to play

• Swipe on the board (phone or tablet), or press the ← → ↑ ↓ arrow keys or W A S D. Every tile slides as far as it can that way.
• Two equal tiles that run into each other fuse into one tile of double the value. A tile only fuses once per move.
• After every move a new tile appears: a 2 (usually) or a 4 (one time in ten).
• When the board is full and no two neighbours match, the game is over.
• P or Esc pauses, M turns the music on or off. In Zen, U undoes a move.

Milestones

Big tiles have names: 128 Spark, 256 Comet, 512 Star, 1024 Nova, then Supernova (two Novas fused), Quasar, Pulsar, Nebula — and beyond. You don't stop at Supernova: keep going!

Modes

• 🟦 Classic 4×4 — the classic board, endless.
• 🔷 Big 5×5 — more room, longer games and much bigger tiles.
• ⏱ 3-minute Rush — as many points as you can in 3 minutes. Every fuse into 256 or more adds 2 seconds (up to 5:00 in all). It also ends if you run out of moves.
• 📅 Daily Fusion — a Classic board where the new tiles come from today's date: make the same moves as a friend and you get exactly the same tiles. Only your first try each day counts for the leaderboard — it counts from its first move, even if you stop or start again (you can carry on a saved Daily). After that it's practice.
• 🧘 Zen — no clock, no leaderboard and unlimited undo (the ↶ button).

Scoring

• Each fuse scores the new tile's value: a fuse into 64 scores 64.
• Chain bonus: fuse several pairs in one move and you get +10 % of that move's points for every fuse after the first (3 fuses = +20 %).
• Your best scores are kept in a top 10 for each mode on this device, and signed-in players go on the leaderboards (not Zen). Your biggest tile ever is kept too.
• Solo games are saved as you play — leave and carry on later.

⚔️ Battles

• 2 to 4 players: challenge someone, open a table, or play ⚔️ vs 1–3 🤖 computer players (Beginner to Expert).
• Everyone plays their own 4×4 board with the same tiles for the same moves, for 3 minutes. The highest score wins.
• If your board locks up you're out — but your score still counts.
• The other players' boards are shown live, small, next to yours.
• ❄️ Ice attacks (can be turned off): a fuse into 128 or more drops a frozen block on an empty cell of every rival's board. Tiles can't pass or fuse with it. It melts after 5 of their moves or 10 seconds. Each player can send ice at most once every 15 seconds, and a board can only hold one block at a time.

Tips

• Pick a corner and keep your biggest tile there. Build a "snake" of falling values along the edge.
• Try to use only three directions — the fourth pulls your big tile out of its corner.
• Watch the edge glow: when it pulses red the board is nearly full. Look for fuses before you slide.
• In a Rush, quick small fuses add up — but a 256 buys you 2 more seconds.
