Licensed under the **GNU General Public License v3** — full text in `engine/COPYING-stockfish.txt`. The files are unmodified (the `.dat` file is the same `.wasm` file under another name, for web hosts that block `.wasm`). Corresponding source code: - Stockfish: https://github.com/official-stockfish/Stockfish - stockfish.js build (release v19.0.1): https://github.com/nmrugg/stockfish.js The engine runs as a separate program (a Web Worker) that the rest of the site talks to over the standard UCI text protocol; the GPL applies to the engine files, not to the rest of the site. If you share this site, keep `engine/COPYING-stockfish.txt` with the engine and these source links. ## Classic chess pieces (cburnett) — `js/cburnett.js` Chess piece artwork by **Colin M.L. Burnett**, licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 — https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ . Source: https://github.com/lichess-org/lila/tree/master/public/piece/cburnett . The **Neon Glow** and **Bold** piece sets (js/pieces.js) are recoloured adaptations of this artwork and are shared under the same CC BY-SA 3.0 licence. (The Minimal and Pixel Retro sets are original and, like the rest of the site's own artwork, © Malcolm Christopher, all rights reserved.) ## Word list — `dict/words.txt` (Pipe Word and Word Duel) Derived from **SCOWL (Spell Checker Oriented Word Lists)**, Copyright 2000-2016 Kevin Atkinson and the other copyright holders named in its notice — http://wordlist.aspell.net/ — via the npm package `wordlist-english` 1.2.1. We used sizes up to 70 with British and American spellings, kept lower-case words of 3–16 letters, removed offensive words and grouped the words by how common they are. SCOWL's full copyright notice and permission terms (including the credits for 12Dicts, Moby Words, UK English Wordlist and the other sources it was built from) are in `dict/COPYING-SCOWL.txt`, which must stay next to the word list. ## Nebula Rivals soundtrack — `games/spaceduel/music.mp3` "Space Duel 121" music © 2026 **Malcolm Christopher**, licensed under **Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0)** — https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ . You may share and adapt it for any purpose, including commercially, as long as you give credit, e.g. *"Space Duel 121" by Malcolm Christopher, CC BY 4.0*, and say if you changed it. ## Fonts Orbitron (The League of Moveable Type / Matt McInerney), Inter (Rasmus Andersson), Playfair Display (Claus Eggers Sørensen) and Press Start 2P (CodeMan38) are served from this site (`fonts/`, the Western European letter sets from Google Fonts, taken from the Fontsource packages; Inter also has its Central/Eastern European set). All four are under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, which allows using and sharing them, including on commercial sites, as long as the licence stays with the fonts and the fonts aren't sold on their own. The full licences with each font's copyright line are in `fonts/OFL-inter.txt`, `fonts/OFL-orbitron.txt`, `fonts/OFL-playfair-display.txt` and `fonts/OFL-press-start-2p.txt`. ## Online services Players find each other through public Nostr relays (via Trystero) and Google's free STUN servers. No game data is stored on any server; moves and chat go directly between players' browsers. ## three.js — `vendor/three/` (Futron's, Pool's and Pinball's 3D graphics) three.js r185 (0.185.1) by the three.js authors — https://threejs.org · https://github.com/mrdoob/three.js MIT License (full text in `vendor/three/LICENSE`). The published `three.module.min.js` and `three.core.min.js` files, unmodified. Loaded only when a Futron game opens. The `vendor/three/gltf-loader.min.js` file is three.js's GLTFLoader (with the BufferGeometryUtils and SkeletonUtils helpers it needs), r185, bundled and minified for this site — same MIT licence. Futron itself is an original game written for this site; it does not use any code or artwork from GLTron or other light-cycle games. ## Futron — motorbike model (`games/futron/models/cagiva-v593.glb`) "Cagiva V593" by Yudha Mfr — https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/cagiva-v593-c700e7c131454303b3a87d7a264e7252 (artist: https://sketchfab.com/yudhamfr · https://www.deviantart.com/yudhamfr) Licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) — https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Changes: re-coloured in the game (each rider's colour on the bodywork), scaled, wheels made to spin, and a simple rider figure added on top in the game's code. The model file itself is unchanged. ## Futron — sound effects (`games/futron/sfx/`) Used by the Street look. From Kenney's Starter Kit Racing (https://kenney.nl · https://github.com/KenneyNL), CC0 1.0 (public domain): engine-moto.ogg (engine-motorcycle), impact.ogg and skid.ogg (the skid sound by Landeplage, also CC0). The .mp3 copies are conversions of the same files for browsers without Ogg Vorbis. No credit is required for CC0, but thank you, Kenney. turn-click.mp3 (the light cycles' turn sound) was supplied by the site owner. ## Futron — soundtrack (`games/futron/music.mp3`) © 2026 Malcolm Christopher, Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 (free to reuse with credit). ## Pool — sound effects (`games/pool/sfx/`) Ball clicks, cushion and pocket sounds, cue strikes and the bar-crowd murmur are from **"Pool And Billiards SFX"** by **Suraj Kispotta** (https://papapleygames.itch.io/pool-and-billiards), **CC0 1.0** (public domain). Trimmed, levelled and converted to Ogg Vorbis and MP3 for the site. No credit is required for CC0, but thank you, Suraj. The applause is made in the game's code. ## Pool — applause (`games/pool/sfx/applause.mp3`, `games/pool/sfx/applause-match.mp3`) "Applause from 40 people" 2 (ID 3518) and 4 (ID 3520) by **BigSoundBank.com** (https://bigsoundbank.com), **CC0 1.0** (public domain). Trimmed, faded and levelled for the game. ## Pool — people in the 3D rooms on High graphics (`games/pool/models/`) Four free models from CGTrader, free to use commercially (CGTrader's royalty-free licence), by the designers **adam127** (https://www.cgtrader.com/designers/adam127), **massimojaver** (https://www.cgtrader.com/designers/massimojaver) and **cpookongploy** (https://www.cgtrader.com/designers/cpookongploy): "Busy man" (`man.glb`), "Pretty woman" (`woman.glb`), "Civil man" (`older-man.glb`) and "Female Leather Suit" (`leather-woman.glb`). The first three were made with MakeHuman (http://www.makehumancommunity.org), whose bodies, clothes and hair are CC0; the fourth with Character Creator. Changes: converted from FBX to glTF, textures made smaller, shapes simplified and compressed, facial-expression shapes, teeth and tongue left out; in the game each person gets their own shirt, trousers, hair and skin colours, is posed in code and may wear glasses or a cap (made in code). Only the models are from there; everything else in the rooms is made in the game's code. ## Pool — arcade cabinets in the bar's Arcade look (`games/pool/models/arcade.glb`) "Arcade machine", a free model from CGTrader (CGTrader's royalty-free licence) by the designer **panerebus** (https://www.cgtrader.com/designers/panerebus). Changes: converted from FBX to glTF, the colour texture made smaller (normal, metal and roughness maps left out) and the shape compressed; in the game two of the three copies are repainted (cyan and yellow) and each screen shows a made-up game drawn in code. ## Pool — soundtrack (`games/pool/music/`) "Warm Swing", "Unhurried Swing" and "Softly Filled Room" © 2026 Malcolm Christopher, Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 (free to reuse with credit). ## Brawl Cell — art, music and sound (`games/brawlcell/`) All of Brawl Cell's pixel art (fighters, monsters, weapons, tiles and backgrounds), its chiptune soundtrack and its sound effects were made for this site (drawn and composed in code); no third-party assets are used. Part of the site, © Malcolm Christopher, all rights reserved. ## Pinball — tables, art, music and sound (`games/pinball/`) All five Pinball tables (their layouts, rules and toys), the playfield art, the 3D models, the dot-matrix display, the theme songs and the sound effects were made for this site (drawn, modelled and composed in code); no third-party assets are used. Part of the site, © Malcolm Christopher, all rights reserved. ## Nova Rift — ships, enemies, bosses, art, music and sound (`games/novarift/`) All of Nova Rift — its ships, enemies, the fifteen guardians, the fifteen mid-bosses, the rival aces and all their attacks, the 75 stages, the pixel art (drawn in code with the game's own pixel kit), the scrolling scenery, the soundtrack (41 songs played by the game's own synthesiser, `games/novarift/synth.js`) and the sound effects — was made for this site; no third-party assets, recordings or samples are used. Part of the site, © Malcolm Christopher, all rights reserved. ## Neon Break, Pinball and Nova Rift music — `games/music.js`, `games/neonbreak/songs.js`, `games/pinball/songs.js`, `games/novarift/songs.js` The songs are written as data and played live by the site's own little synthesisers (`games/music.js`, and `games/novarift/synth.js` for Nova Rift); no recordings or samples are used. Part of the site, © Malcolm Christopher, all rights reserved. ## jsQR — `vendor/jsqr.js` (in-app QR scanner) jsQR 1.4.0 by Cosmo Wolfe and contributors — https://github.com/cozmo/jsQR Licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0 (http://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0). Unmodified apart from minification and a small wrapper that turns it into an ES module. Used only on phones/browsers without a built-in QR reader; camera frames never leave the device.
